Building Health Equity: The Role of The Property Sector in Improving Health, December 2024

This review by the UCL Institute of Health Equity (IHE) explains how the twin crises of health and housing can be tackled together, by promoting health equity. The property sector - investors, developers and operators - have an indispensable role to play in improving health and health equity, yet they have rarely been involved in plans to improve health and reduce inequalities. This report focuses on what the property sector can do to support health and health equity. The property sector needs to work alongside communities, and with local government in more productive collaborations, to ensure that the right type of development is happening in the right places.
